Staff receive a 14% bonus

Many high street firms are struggling to survive the economic downturn but the John Lewis department stores are bucking the trend.

The chain is an employee-owned partnership. Workers are called 'Partners' and they will each receive 14% of their annual salaries as a bonus. It is slightly less than last year's 18% figure, but still extra cash in troubled times. Divya Kohli reports from Reading.
