A man who admitted supplying Crystal MDMA has been sentenced to four years imprisonment.
Reggie Smith, 25, of Maidstone Road, Rainham, Gillingham, appeared before Maidstone Crown Court today, where he was sentenced.
Smith was driving along Lordwood Lane, Chatham, on Wednesday August 24 last year when he was stopped by Kent Police officers. His van was searched and drugs were found in his possession. A total of 63.7 grams of Crystal MDMA with an estimated street value of £2,500 were seized. This amount of the drug would have made around 900 ecstasy tablets.
Detective Sergeant Rob Haines of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said: "We are dedicated to taking drugs off of the streets and making our neighbourhoods even safer.
"I am confident that this sentence sends a message to those involved in the drugs supply network that their illegal activity will not be tolerated. We will not hesitate in targeting dealers, arresting them and putting them before the courts.
"The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate is committed to relentlessly pursuing those involved in the supply and distribution of controlled drugs and will continue to work with residents and our partner agencies to build stronger, safer neighbourhoods."
