High Speed 1 - the Channel Tunnel Rail Link - has been criticised as poor value for money by a committee of MPs. The line was opened in 2007 to carry high speed Javelins and Eurostars. But passenger numbers have been well below forecasts. However, the line has performed well since it opened, with 0.43 per cent of services delayed by incidents such as track or signal failures.
