More than forty-five firefighters have been dealing with a fire at an industrial unit at Manor Industrial Estate on the Millbrook Trading Estate, on Manor House Avenue in Millbrook Southampton.

The building on fire is a Garage Workshop. Fire crews from Redbridge, St Marys, Totton, Eastleigh, Romsey and Hightown have been tackling the blaze.

The incident is being scaled down. An investigation will begin to find out what caused the fire.

The alert to the fire in a garage workshop came shortly after 3pm

“Upon arrival we could see flames from the car inside the building. Firefighters gained access to the premises to extinguish the fire and crews ventilated the premises.

“Crews used the thermal imaging camera to check for further pockets of fire and the spread of smoke. Firefighters worked extremely hard to contain the fire to the unit of origin and did a sterling job in stopping the fire from spreading to the neighbouring units. Due to their efforts there should be no adverse impact to the rest of the industrial estate.”
