Jail for drug dealers in Medway

Fifteen drug dealers arrested in Medway during a swoop by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have been jailed for a total of 29 years.

All were arrested in the Medway towns during a 48 hour period following a three-month intelligence-led investigation.

All have appeared for sentencing at Maidstone Crown Court throughout this week after previously pleading guilty to offences of supplying Class A drugs.

  • Daniel Smith, 32, of Gillingham Road, Gillingham was jailed for 27 months
  • Niall Gallagher, 42, of Nelson Road, Gillingham, was jailed for three years
  • Asa Dunbar, 37, of Meadow Bank Road, Chatham was jailed for 14 months
  • Daniel Thompson, 40, of Richmond Road, Gillingham was jailed for two years
  • Ross Collins, 29, of no fixed address was jailed for 16 months.
  • Liam Fackrell, 30, of no fixed address was given a two-year supervision order with a prohibited activity order not to drink alcohol in a public place for six months and a six-month drug rehabilitation order.
  • Robert Callender, 18, of Brompton Road, Gillingham was jailed for two-and-a-half years
  • Abdul Jalloh, 25, of St Leonards Avenue, Chatham was jailed for three years and four months
  • Kevin Somerville, 42, of Church Street, Chatham was jailed for two years
  • Daniel Murphy, 31, of Star Hill, Rochester was jailed for 18 months; Anthony Carter, 39, of Kingswood Road, Gillingham was jailed for 18 months
  • Paul Devine, 34, of Meadown Bank Road, Chatham was jailed for 14 months
  • Danny Larkin, 40, of High Street, Rochester was jailed for 10 months
  • Karen Blayney, 33, of Milburn Road, Gillingham was jailed for two years and two months
  • Justin Suleyman, 25, of no fixed address was jailed for two years and eight months.
  • Terry Tremain, 26, of Upper Luton Road, Chatham was given an 18-month community order, an 18-month supervision order and a nine-month drug rehabilitation order
  • Alison Wood, 34, of Star Hill, Rochester was given an 18-month community order, 18-month supervision order and nine-month drug rehabilitation order.
  • Dean Robinson, 21, of Trafalgar Street, Gillingham was jailed for two years.
  • Donna Bunch, 25, of no fixed address and Barry Treays, 40, of Trafalgar Street, Gillingham were each given a 12-month community order, 12-month supervision order, six-month drug rehabilitation order and four-month curfew between 8pm and 6am.
  • Aaron Eldridge, 29, of Milburn Road, Gillingham was given a 12-month community order, 12-month supervision order, six-month drug rehabilitation order and must carry out 175 hours of unpaid work.

Detective Inspector Eddie Fox, from the Serious Crime Directorate, said: "The culmination of this challenging investigation resulted in the arrest of more than 40 people for the supply of Class A heroin and crack cocaine in the Medway towns.

"These people and their dealing of drugs were responsible for much of the crime in the area and it is satisfying to see them brought to justice and punished."
