Sir Richard Branson has attacked air passenger duty in Britain. He's now calling on the Government to review the amount people have to pay on flights.

At the launch of a new Virgin Atlantic service to Canada, he said that Air Passenger Duty is bad for Britain's economy and is prepared to fund an independent review if Ministers do not.

The new route to Vancouver is the 32nd route operated by the Gatwick-based airline. The A340-300 plane includes new technology that allows passengers to make mobile calls and send texts from their own phones.
