Navy opens diamond jubilee

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations launched in the South in dramatic fashion today. Royal Navy warship, HMS Diamond, fired a 21 gun salute as it sailed into Portsmouth for a street party on its flight deck.

The arrival of the Type 45 destroyer was accompanied by a diamond formation flypast by Navy aircraft. It marks the start of four days of exciting events across our region.
