The Business Secretary VInce Cable has said he is in Southampton today to 'celebrate two success stories'.
He is at the city's port to open a new vehicle multideck, used for storing cars while they wait for a ship to take them overseas. Dr Cable said the British car industry was now doing well.
The UK now exports more cars than it imports. And he congratulated the port of Southampton, which this year is handling 500,000 cars. Next year that figure is expected to rise to 700,000.
