The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning until midnight on Monday 6th June.

In some parts of the region more than a typical month's worth of rain has fallen. The forecast largely reports localised heavy rain in parts followed by thundery showers.

Later scattered heavy thunderstorms may develop where the rain clears, these thunderstorms are most likely across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Overnight from Monday into Sunday several areas were hit by flooding with the worst effects being felt in Sussex. Our weather presenter Simon Parkin has been looking at the downpour so far.
