New 'safer beaches' fund in hero's memory

The family of man who drowned while rescuing a child whose inflatable had floated away from a beach in West Sussex, have paid further tribute to him. Plamen Petkov who was 32, and from Sutton died last month. His funeral was held yesterday.
His family thanked everybody for their support at a difficult time. They issued a statement saying:
– The family of Plamen Petkov"In order to honour his memory, and recognise his heroic and selfless act, Plamen's family have decided to support the RNLI and its Forever by the Sea Fund, supporting the charity's work to provide first class service to make Britain's beaches safer."
A special webpage has been set up to promote the fund called 'The Plamen Petkov Forever by the Sea fund'.
