Today, with the help of the sun temperatures reached -20C degrees in Sussex. However, the temperature reading was not just another cold day in the great British summer. The power of the sun was being harnessed by a massive solar array to deep freeze two billion seeds at the Millennium Seed bank in Ardingly.

While global warming threatens to eliminate some species of plant life from the face of the earth, in one part of the region the sun is helping to guarantee their future. Sarah Saunders reports.
