Branson in new world record
At 61, Sir Richard Branson has become the oldest person to kitesurf across the Channel. Yesterday, his son set the record for the fastest crossing, along with a group of friends - including the first women to achieve the feat.
Sir Richard Branson ended up making the cross-channel journey by boat yesterday after problems with his kite but son Sam did kite surf the whole way and set a world record for doing so, at two hours and 18 minutes.
Nine people made it to Folkestone beach by kiteout of the 11 who set off, in itself a world record for the fastest group. Anda third record, for the fastest female kitesurf crossing was also set.
