Children who designed a memorial to honour a Red Arrows pilot have seen the structure taking shape for the first time.
Youngsters from Kinson Primary School in Bournemouth designed the tribute in memory of Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging whose jet crashed near the town last year.
Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging's widow also watched as the first sections were cut out at a metal workshop in Ferndown.
Fran Blanchard from Kinson Primary School, said:
“It was a fantastic day for our pupils to see their ideas come to fruition. It’s been a great experience for them and we are very proud that our School has played a part in such a worthwhile and special project.”
