19-year-old, Adelle Tracey form Godalming in Surrey,wasnominated by Dame Kelly Holmes to be one of sevenyoung British athletes to light the Olympic cauldron. Adelle won 800msilver for Great Britain in the European Youth OlympicFestival in Finland.
Aidan Reynolds, who is 18, has won three national medals in Javelin. He was nominated by former Team GB captain Lynn Davies.
17-year-old young sailor Callum Airlie was nominated by gold medal-winning sailor Shirley Robertson.
Jordan Duckitt, who is 18, was chairman of the London 2012 Young Ambassador Steering Group for two years, and was nominated by Duncan Goodhew.
16-year-old athletics talent Desiree Henry was nominated by Daley Thomson. She competes this year at the World Junior Championships in Barcelona.
18-year-old runner Katie Kirk was selected to run in the 400m and 4x400m relay at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. She was nominated by Dame Mary Peters.
19-year-old, rower, Cameron MacRitchie was nominated by Sir Steve Redgrave who carried the flame into the Olympic Stadium.
The seven young athletes each lit a single flame on the ground, which triggered the ignition of more than 200 petals.
