Two escape microlight crash

Two people have survived after their microlight crashed on the Isle of Wight.

The aircraft came down at Tapnell Farm on Newport Road near Freshwater.

The pilot - a man in his 40s - suffered an ankle injury and the passenger - a woman in her 20s - suffered shock.

Both were taken to St Mary's Hospital.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.
