New cancer research centre in memory of Alison
by Kerry Swain
A new research centre to find a cure for cancer has opened in Portsmouth.
The laboratory was opened in memory of Alison Phelan who died just ten months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was seven-years-old. Alison's mother and brother cut the ribbon.
The site at the University of Portsmouth is one of 7 centres of excellence around the UK working to find a cure, as Kerry Swain reports.
