M275 Tipner junction

A new junction is being built on the M275 by Portsmouth City Council. Narrow lanes are in place on both sides of the motorway, with a 50mph speed limit on the southbound carriageway and 40mph on the northbound carriageway.

A303 Hampshire drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance along the A303 in Hampshire between Micheldever and Longparish, and between Weyhill and Shipton Bellinger started on Monday 11 February and is expected to take 10 nights to complete. Work will be carried out overnight Monday through Friday between 10pm and 6am using lane closures on either the east or westbound carriageway.

A34 Newbury earthworks

Embankment stablisation work continues this week on the southbound A34 near Speen, just north of Newbury in Berkshire. Work started on Monday 11 February for three weeks and is being carried out overnight between 9pm and 5am, Monday to Friday, using a lane one closure on the southbound carriageway.

A34 Oxfordshire culvert maintenance

Maintenance on drainage culverts continues this week at various locations along the A34 in Oxfordshire. Work started on Monday 11 February for seven weeks. The work will be carried out during day or night time hours, Monday to Friday, depending on the location. Overnight lane closures will be used on the A34, and some temporary traffic lights and a lane closure may be in place on local roads where they pass beneath the A34.

M4 junctions 6 to 7 Cippenham drainage maintenance

Work to improve the run-off of water from the M4 by re-profiling the road verges starts this week for six weeks. From Monday 18 February, the hard-shoulder on both the east and westbound carriageways will be closed, 24 hours a day until the end of the project. Work will be carried out between 8am and 6pm each day, Monday to Friday, with some work carried out during night-time hours using a closure of lane 1 on either the east or westbound carriageway.

M4 junction 7 to 8/9 parapet repair

Repair work will be carried out this week to the bridge which carries the M4 over the River Thames at Bray in Berkshire. Overnight on Tuesday 19 February (9pm to 5.30am) there will be a closure of lane 1 and the hard shoulder on the westbound carriageway across the bridge.

M4 junction 8/9 bridge maintenance

Work to replace a bridge component on one of the bridges at the junction 8/9 interchange of the M4 near Maidenhead will be carried out this week. From Monday 18 February for five nights (10pm to 6am) the eastern bridge over the M4 will be closed between 10pm and 6am each night. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via junction 7.

M4 junctions 10 to 11 boundary fence replacement

A 300 metre section of boundary fence along the eastbound verge of the M4 at King Street Lane Bridge will be replaced from Tuesday 19 February for two weeks, using a daytime closure of the hard-shoulder (9am to 5pm).

M4 junctions 10 to 11 safety barrier maintenance**

Work to upgrade a section of the safety barrier on the M4, to the east of junction 11, continues this week. A section of the existing central reservation steel barrier is being replaced with a concrete barrier. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit are in place 24 hours a day on both carriageways, with occasional overnight lane closures between 10pm and 6am. A free recovery service is available through the roadworks.

Work started last December and is expected to be completed by the end of March.

M4 junction 10 slip road maintenance

Concrete repairs continue this week on the bridge at junction 10 that carries the westbound exit slip road towards Reading and the eastbound exit slip road towards Wokingham over the M4 motorway. The work started on Monday 11 February for four weeks and is being carried out overnight between 10pm and 5.30am, Monday to Friday, using lane closures.

M4 junctions 12 to 13 bridge maintenance

Joint replacement work continues this week on bridges between junction 12 and 13 of the M4 in Berkshire. The work is being carried out overnight between 10pm and 5.30am Monday to Thursday, and between 11pm and 5.30am on Fridays, using lane closures with traffic directed to use the hard shoulder and a reduced 50mph speed limit on either the west or eastbound carriageway.

From Monday 11 February until Friday 22 February work will be carried out on the Frilsham Manor bridge. Work on Furze Hill bridge is expected to take place in late March. Work is complete on the Tanners Copse bridge.

M4 junction 13 carriageway maintenance

Work to resurface sections of the M4 in both directions around junction 13 near Newbury will continue this week. Work is underway on the westbound carriageway, using temporary lane closures between 10pm and 6am each night, Monday to Friday, until Tuesday 26 February, This week the westbound entry slip road at junction 13 will be closed each night, with a diversion route in place via junction 12.

M4 junctions 13 to 15 drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance at various locations between junctions 13 (Chieveley) and 15 (Swindon) continues this week and is expected to be completed by Friday 8 March. Work will be carried out overnight between 10pm and 6am, Monday to Friday, using lane closures on either the east or westbound carriageways.

M4 junction 14 (Hungerford) bridge strengthening

A major maintenance scheme to replace the bridge supports on the M4 junction 14 roundabout near Hungerford continues this week.

There is a single lane running and reduced 30 mph speed limit on the junction 14 roundabout below the motorway. On the exit slip roads at junction 14, drivers should use the left-hand lane if they are taking the first exit at the roundabout, and the right-hand lane for any other exit.

Road users are advised to drive with extra care through the roadworks, and to be aware that site traffic will be using the single lane section on the roundabout to access the centre of the roundabout.

The work is expected to be completed in June.

M3 junctions 8 to 9 surface testing

Work to test the road surface of the southbound M3 carriageway between junctions 8 and 9 will be carried out overnight until the end of February. The work will help inform future maintenance requirements and will be carried out overnight, between 10pm and 6am, using temporary lane closures.

A31 Rufus Stone drainage clearance

Drain clearance on the A31 at Rufus Stone, near Lindhurst in Hampshire, continues this week, overnight between 10pm and 6am, Monday to Friday. Work started on Monday 21 January for around two months. The gap in the central reservation, opposite the entrance to Castle Malwood, and the eastbound exit to Rufus Stone and Brook will be closed. Fully signed diversions will be in place via Picket Post for the gap closure and via the B3079 and B3078 for the eastbound exit.

M3 junctions 3 to 4 drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance started on Thursday 31 January and will be carried out overnight between 10pm and 6am, Monday to Friday, using hard shoulder or lane closures. It is due to be completed on Thursday 28 March.

M3 junction 14 to A33 link road structural repairs

Bridge joints are being replaced on the link road carrying the A33 over the M3 near Southampton overnight between 10pm and 6am, Monday to Friday, from Monday 11 to Friday 22 February. The link road will be closed with a fully signed diversion route via either junction 5 or 3.

M3 / M27 link road vegetation management

Vegetation management will be carried out on the link roads between the M3 and M27 from Monday 11 to Friday 22 February. The hard shoulder will be closed during the daytime and lane 1 will be closed overnight between 10pm and 6am.

A3 Compton to Shackleford drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance will be carried out on the southbound A3 overnight between 10pm and 6am, Monday to Friday, from Monday 11 to Friday 22 February using lane one closures.

M27 junction 9 bridge pier replacement

Work to maintain the bridges on the M27 junction 9 interchange starts this week. Important components on the bridges will be replaced and a new concrete central reservation barrier will be installed to replace the existing metal barrier.

Work starts on bridges on Monday 18 February and is due to be completed by the end of September. From 18 February until mid-March there will be overnight (10pm to 6am) lane closures on both the east and westbound carriageways to resurface sections of the hard-shoulder and lane 3 in preparation for the 24 hour narrow lanes and 50mph speed restriction, which are due to start in mid-March.

A3 Hindhead tunnel maintenance

Routine maintenance work will be carried out in the northbound bore of the Hindhead Tunnel from Monday 18 to Thursday 21 February, between 10pm and 6am each night. While the work is being carried out, both north and southbound traffic will use the southbound bore in a contraflow with a 40mph speed restriction.

M3 junctions 6 to 7 southbound drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance work will be carried out on the southbound M3 between junctions 6 and 7 near Basingstoke on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 February between 10pm and 6am each night, using temporary lane closures.

M3 junctions 10 to 9 northbound drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance work will be carried out on the northbound M3 between junctions 10 and 9 near Winchester on Friday 22 February between 10pm and 6am, using temporary lane closures.

M3 junction 10 northbound exit slip-road surface repairs

Sections of the road surface on the northbound exit slip road of the M3 at Junction 10 will be repaired this week, from Monday 18 to Friday 22 February between 10pm and 6am each night, using a temporary lane closure on the slip road.

M27 junction 5 drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance work will be taking place on the M27 east and westbound carriageways from Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 February between 10pm and 6am. Lane closures will be in place at these times.

A3(M) junction 2 parapet repairs

Bridge maintenance will be carried out on the structure carrying the B2149 Dell Piece over the A3(M) near Waterlooville in Hampshire on Friday 22 February between 10pm and 6am. One lane will be closed on the junction interchange.

A3 Hog’s Back southbound drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance work will be carried out on the southbound A3 at the Hog’s Back near Guildford from Tuesday 19 until Friday 1 March, between 10pm and 6am (Monday to Friday), using temporary lane closures.

A3 Compton to Shackleford southbound drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance work will be carried out on the southbound A3 between Compton and Shackleford, just south of Guildford, from Monday 18 until Wednesday 27 February between 10pm and 6am (Monday to Friday), using temporary lane closures.

A3 Horndean to Queen Elizabeth Country Park drainage maintenance

Drainage maintenance work will be carried out on the northbound A3 between Horndean and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire on Friday 22 February between 10pm and 6am. Temporary lane closures will be in place.
