Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision near Romsey in Hampshire about 1030 pm last night. A pedestrian was struck by a car on the A3057 which then failed to stop. The 19 year old was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 19-year-old man from Romsey was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been walking along the A3057 when hit by a Vauxhall car, which did not stop.
Inspector Kirsty Shannon from the Roads Policing Unit said:

“We are appealing for information on the whereabouts of the old style Vauxhall Astra Mark 3, registration prefix between K and S, which was involved in the collision. The vehicle would have sustained some substantial damage to the windscreen, is missing its front offside wing mirror and has a smashed front offside headlight.
“I would appeal for the driver, or anyone with information about the collision, to contact the police straight away.” Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact the Road Death Investigation Team at Eastleigh Police Station as soon as possible by phoning 101, quoting Operation Tansy.
