British Transport Police has launched an investigation after a bus was stolen from Ramsgate train station in the early hours of Saturday, 25th May.

Four parked cars were damaged, and a lamp post was destroyed before the bus crashed into a wall during the incident, which took place around 3am.

The yellow and blue Travelmaster bus, which was parked and secured on the forecourt of the station, was due to be used later in the morning as a rail replacement service. Around 3am, two men and a woman entered the bus and drove it from the station. It was driven into four parked cars and a lamp post close by, before it crashed into a garden wall, where the trio left it. It is sheer luck that no one was hurt during this foolish incident. Those, whose property was destroyed as a result, have been left understandably upset by what took place and we will do all in our power to catch those responsible.

Police have spoken to an 18-year-old girl from the local area and enquires into the incident continue.

Detectives are now asking for the public’s help to identify these men and would urge anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to come forward.

CCTV from the bus and the surrounding area has also been viewed and we are now in a position to release still images of two men we believe may have information. Did you see the incident happen? Do you recognise the men pictured?
