Pupils with special needs are facing journeys running to several hundred miles just to get to school. Investigations by Meridian including Freedom of Information requests show some children are clocking up thousands of miles in an academic year shuttling to and from school. Some taxi bills in parts of the region are more than £30.000. Our social affairs correspondent Christine Alsford reports.
