It's amazing what you can see in the night sky...if you know where to look!
Our old friend Greg Parker from the New Forest Observatory took advantage of the clear skies over the weekend and was delighted to get an image of the colour-contrast pairing of the bright red planet Mars together with bright blue star Spica.
Spica incidentally is the brightest star in the constellation Virgo and the 15th brightest star in the night sky!
Greg reckons that we'll be able to track both of them across the southern horizon over the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled and your telescope and camera at the ready!
Oh and if like Greg you manage to get a photo please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet me @SimonParkinITV if you're on Twitter.
