A number of memorial events are taking place today in memory of the people who died in the air crash that took place exactly a week ago during the Shoreham Airshow in Sussex.
Eleven people are believed to have died after a Hawker Hunter jet that was performing in a display at the event came down on the nearby A27.
A balloon ceremony will take place on Littlehampton seafront this weekend in memory of local man Matt Jones, who was one of the victims of the tragedy.
People will also be gathering on the Shoreham Tollbridge at 1.20pm today to take part in a silence, paying tribute to those who lost their lives. The location is near the bridge where hundreds of flowers have been laid by residents to show their sympathy for the victims and their families.
This evening there will be a ‘commemorative bridge of light’ at the new Adur Ferry Bridge from 7.30pm. Tealights in jars will be left on the landmark as a gesture of remembrance.
