Justice for Chunky: Thousands sign petition

More than 300,000 people have signed a petition calling for tougher laws for those who abuse animals after a Chihuahua was tortured and left for dead in Kent.

Chunky was attacked for hours in one of the most disturbing cases of animal abuse seen by the RSPCA.

He was taken from his garden in Margate and subjected to a terrifying ordeal, before being dumped in a rubbish tip and left for dead.

Four teenagers have been banned from keeping animals for five years in connection with the attack on Chunky.

Chunky is now back with his owners and recovering.

"What I'm asking for is that anyone who abuses animals, regardless of their age should never be allowed to own an animal again. These offenders should then be placed on a Animal Cruelty Register, which would follow them around for life. Animal abuse is serious, and the laws must change.
