Trade hit by road closures at Three Oaks

Businesses and villagers living near Hastings say they're suffering because two roads have been closed - cutting off one end of the village of Three Oaks from the other.

They've been shut while Southern Water builds public sewers there for the first time.

Licensee of the village pub, Samantha Bevan, says the business is struggling:

In a statement, Southern Water said:

"We will try to allow vehicular access for residents, but this is dependent on health and safety constraints. We have put up signs to say that the Three Oaks pub remains open for business while the works are ongoing... Vehicles will be able to access Butchers Lane from Fourteen Acre Lane. We apologise for any inconvenience these works cause but will try to keep this to a minimum."
