Specialist teams brought in to search for missing woman

Specialist search teams have been brought in to help find a missing woman from Maidenhead.

Beatrice Stafford, also known as Mary, who's 83, was last seen at around 3.46pm on Sunday 6th November in Kings Street, walking to Queen Street in Maidenhead.

Beatrice then got on to the 5a Courtney Buses red single decker bus at 3.50pm outside Boots at the junction of High Street and Market Place and was seen getting off the bus at around 4.06pm at the junction of Altwood Road and Barnard Road, Maidenhead.

There was a further sighting of her in Cannon Lane, near Foundation Park, at 4.40pm on Sunday 6 November however she has not been seen since.

  • 5ft to 5ft 1in
  • of slim build
  • has short grey wavy hair

Beatrice was last seen wearing a royal blue fleece, black trousers, black trainers which had white soles and was carrying a patterned purple, mauve, white and cream shoulder bag.

“Our enquiries to trace Beatrice have been extensive and are continuing. Approximately 800 police hours have been spent carrying out physical searching, using police officers, police staff, specialist search officers, search dogs, the Mounted Section, and the National Police Air Service helicopter.

“Volunteer search teams have also spent approximately 800 hours carrying out activity as part of this missing person investigation. We are also appealing for the public’s help – if you live in Maidenhead please check your gardens and outhouses to help us to look for Beatrice.”
