For the third day this week there were no Southern trains today - after conciliation talks between rail bosses and the unions ended without agreement.
Last night, passengers - at the end of their tether - staged a protest at London's Victoria station.
They then handed in a letter to the Department for Transport, demanding Government action to end the crisis.
Andy Dickenson reports.
Andy spoke to Kelly-Marie Blundell, Lib Dem PPC for Lewes, schoolboy Matthew Collett-Leslie and Mick Whelan, ASLEF General Secretary.
