Part two of our special report into proton beam therapy

Shaun is responding well to treatment Credit: ITV Meridian

In the second of our special reports we look at how 12-year-old Shaun Bull has responded to pioneering proton beam therapy in the United States - treatment that's not yet available in this country.

The NHS is sending hundreds of patients overseas - mainly children - because the cancer treatment minimises damage to other parts of the body.

Shaun is now back home in Winchester - and is finding out from his doctors IF the treatment has been successful.

Here's Christine Alsford's report:

Christine spoke to Shaun's parents Jenny and Stefan Bull and Oncology Consultant Dr Omar al-Salihi.

You can find out more about proton beam therapy on the NHS website and the Cancer Research UK website.
