It is a week to the day that a 21-year-old man died after being stabbed, and Hampshire Police have re-issued their appeal for information.

Genny Dauti, was found with life-threatening stab wounds on Gilpin Close in the Thornhill area of Southampton. The police were called at about 1.38am in the early hours of Saturday 11th March 2017. The seriously injured man later died at Southampton General Hospital.

A murder investigation was launched, and in the week that has followed officers from the Southampton East Neighbourhood Policing Team have been patrolling the area. Officers have been trying to to gather information about Genny, his life, and his movements leading up to his death.

The injured 21-year-old was found in Gilpin Close in Thornhill

“We’re looking to piece together the circumstances that led up to Genny being found fatally wounded last Saturday. Were you in the Gilpin Close area on Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday morning? You may have not seen Genny, but you may have seen something that could help us.

“We also want to hear from anyone who knew Genny or who saw him on Friday evening. Even the smallest bit of information will assist our investigation.

“Another priority for us would be to speak to anyone who saw a silver VW Golf in the area on Friday. Were you driving in the Gilpin Road and surrounding areas between 11.30am on Friday and 2am on Saturday with a dash cam in your vehicle? You may have captured footage significant to the investigation.

“We would urge anyone with information to contact us on 101 and quote Operation Siskin.”
