Train stops at rural stations could be cut

The number of trains stopping at stations in rural Kent and Sussex could be cut - under plans being considered by the government.

The consultation on the future of the South Eastern rail network says that train times between Hastings and Charing Cross - and Tonbridge and Ashford - could be speeded up if some trains made fewer stops.

But that's led to thousands signing a petition in protest. Martin Chambers from the Pluckley Rail Action Group started the petition:
