A man who stabbed another man several times in the back has been jailed for seven years.

20 year old Tommy Holdsworth, of Churchill Road in Dover had been involved in an argument with a group of men during the early hours who were visitors to the town.

The men were racially abused and chased down Stanhope Road in Deal.

He then cornered the victim into a church yard before "violently" attacking him.

Police have described Holdsworth as a "risk to the public".

Kent Police will not tolerate anyone carrying knives or weapons in our community. This vicious and spontaneous outburst by Holdsworth could have cost the victim his life. Thankfully he was taken to a local hospital where his injuries were not life threatening. Holdsworth is clearly a risk to the public and as a result of what he did will now serve time in prison."
