Isle of Wight Pride has beaten five shortlisted competitors to be chosen as hosts of next year's UK Pride.
It's only the second time national status has been given- the first UK Pride took place in Hull this summer with a huge increase in attendees from all over the country.
It's hoped that boost to the local economy can be replicated on the island when the event returns on July 21st 2018.
Those behind the bid tweeted their delight this morning after the announcement was made in Blackpool:
Other area in the running were Folkestone, Exeter, Liverpool. Preston and Wales.
