Dippy on tour! First stop: Dorchester

He's world famous, has crowds queuing round the block just to catch a glimpse of him - and he's about to embark on a nationwide tour.

We're of course talking about Dippy the Dinosaur.

For more than a century his home has been the Natural History Museum in London. But from today (09/02) starting at Dorchester, he embarks on a three-year tour around the country.

Dippy was the world's first diplodocus skeleton to go on display when he was sent here from America in 1905.

One of the biggest dinosaurs ever to walk to the earth, Dippy was the world's first diplodocus skeleton to go on display when he was sent here from America in 1905.

Since then his home has been the Natural History Museum in London

But after more than a century, he's back on the road.
