Teenager Gaia Pope, who went missing in Swanage, Dorset, last year sparking a massive search, died from hypothermia a coroner has been told.

Members of the 19-year-old student's family, who co-ordinated an online campaign to try and find her, were in Bournemouth to hear the inquest into her death opened and adjourned.

Gaia's body was found in undergrowth near the clifftop between Dancing Ledge and Anvil Point eleven days after she went missing.

An initial post mortem failed to establish a cause of death, but further tests confirmed it as hypothermia.

The inquest will resume in May.
