Thousands of passengers were stranded during rush hour this morning as an electrical fault blocked rail lines at Winchester.
Cancellations across all services at Southampton Central since around seven o'clock this morning meant some passengers were offered taxis to their destination.
The disruption meant the London-bound platform at Southampton Central became overcrowded.
It's reported some passengers waited for around two hours.
South Western Railway says that the electric third rail was damaged at Winchester leading to the London-bound line being blocked.
All lines have now reopened but disruption is expected until 4pm.
The firm says train services may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
