Debbie Godfrey-Phaure, Headteacher at Portchester School in Bournemouth, paid to tribute to Kyle Rees who suffered serious head injuries while at school and later died. She said they were "utterly and completely devastated by this tragedy".
Portchester School in Bournemouth has released a statement following the death of one of its students from severe head injuries.
The school said: "Emotions are still very raw in our school community and we must be allowed to focus all our energies on our students."
Messages paying tribute to a schoolboy from Bournemouth in Dorset have been left outside Portchester School.
Kyle Rees died in Southampton General Hospital yesterday after suffering a serious head injury.
The message reads: "Kyle, you have been there for everyone and anyone, ever since I have ment you not once have I seen you NOT smiling! No one as amazing as you deserves this! Thoughts to both you and your family, I will miss you fred! Sleep tight!"
Dorset Police have confirmed that 16-year-old Kyle Rees has died after he sustained a serious head injury at Portchester School in Bournemouth on Monday. He was taken to Bournemouth Hospital and Southampton General Hospital, but died on Tuesday. His next-of-kin have all been informed.
