Same Sky spends the six months leading up to the parade working with local schools to help them plan and create their costumes. The charity, which works with communities to create exciting and affordable arts events, has been organising the spectacular free parade since 1989.
10,000 spectators lined the route as cavemen, butterflies and superheroes, among the many creations, moved through the streets to the sound of samba music.
The parade is organised by community art charity, Same Sky. Vanessa Redgrave, guest director, led the parade with her grandchildren..
