More Diamond Jubilee events are due to take place across the region today including a big street party in Southampton. The weather has put a bit of a dampener on things, but the show goes on.
Bagpipes heralded the lighting of Monday's Diamond Jubilee beacon at Birchington-on-Sea in Northeast Kent. Thanks to Bill Furness - the Vice Chair of Birchington Parish Council, for this photograph.
Poundbury resident Neil Crick, sent us a photograph of a his neighbours toasting the Queen on Monday. "A great time was had by all at a Jubilee Tea Party in The Brownsword Hall, Poundbury, Dorchester at 3.30 p.m. on Monday 4th June 2012.", he said.
Neil added: "The tea for 80 local residents was masterminded by Margot Griffiths and culminated with a Toast to the Queen."
Tina Farrell from Salford, near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire sent some photographs to Meridian saying: "Just thought we'd like to share our fantastic Jubilee Beacon with you all @ Meridian taken Monday 4 June, 2012.
Steve Hancock from Broad Walk in Cranleigh sent us this Diamond Jubilee photograph. "Here’s a group shout from our Street Party", he said.
Meridian viewer NIkki O'Neill from Bournemouth has decorated her house for the Diamond Jubilee, she says: " ... our children love it, and we live down the road from a school-the children love walking by and seeing it-everyone walks by and waves and smiles!"
