A man has been jailed for six years in a young offenders institute following an attack in Sussex that left a teenager with severe brain damage.

Ashley Dacosta, 20, from Bexhill, pleaded guilty in June to racially motivated grievous bodily harm against Mo Bourner.

He was also found guilty of perverting the course of justice last week.

Jack Carrick, 25, also from Bexhill and found guilty of perverting the course of justice, was sentenced today to two years in jail.

15 year old Mo Bourner was assaulted in Bexhill last October.

Two men will be sentenced today in connection with an attack in Sussex that left a teenager with severe brain damage.

15 year old Mo Bourner was assaulted in Bexhill last October. Ashley Dacosta, 20, and Jack Carrick, 25, from Bexhill, were found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

Ashley Dacosta will also be sentenced for racially motivated grievous bodily harm against Mo Bourner, for which he pleaded guilty to back in June.
