Our Olympic Hopefuls: Day 14
Athletes from across the Meridian region are in action today, here's our round-up of who to look out for.
A silver double for our sailors!
Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark have won the silver medal in the Women's 470 sailing class at the Olympics. They matched the efforts of their team mates Stuart Bithell and Luke Patience who took silver in the Men's event.
The women took second place behind the New Zealand crew while the men's crew lost out to the Australians.
Canoeists in Olympic finals
Jess Walker from Brighton has made it through to the finals of the Women's Kayak Singles, while Liam Heath and Jon Schofield qualified for the final of the Men's Kayak Doubles.
But it was disappointment for Bembridge's Richard Jefferies after he was eliminated in the semi-finals.

Silver for sailors
Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell had to settle for silver after the medal race of the Men's 470 sailing class in Weymouth.
Men's Kayak pair in semis
Men's Kayak pair Jonathan Schofield and Liam Heath have come second in their heat in the Men's Kayak Double 200m. The semi-final will take place just after midday.
Brighton girl paddles through
Jessica Walker has started her Olympic campaign at Eton Dorney today, by coming fourth in her heat for the Women's Kayak Singles 200m. She's through to the second round and will compete in the semi-final later.
Canoeist through to semi-finals
Richard Jefferies form the Isle of Wight has come third in the first heat of the Men's Canoe Singles. He qualified for the semi-finals which will take place later this morning.

Going for gold
With action on the track, on the water and in the pool, Meridian's athletes will be hoping to add to Team GB's historic tally.
