Woman died from a blow to the head

A Home Office pathologist has found that an elderly woman found dead at her home in Southampton died as a result of a blow to the head. The post mortem examination was carried out at the weekend.

The woman in her eighties was discovered in her home in Atlantic Close, Ocean Village by members of her family at around 7.55pm on Saturday, August 18. Detectives are questioning a 37-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 37-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman in her 80s at Ocean Village in Southampton. The pensioner's body was discovered at her flat by a family member. About 60 police officers are involved in the murder inquiry. A post mortem is taking place today.
