Bomb disposal squad stood down
Sussex Police say their officers in Adur have just confirmed that the suspected bomb found in Shoreham is in fact an abandoned gas cylinder.
As a result the footbridge in Shoreham is now reopening.

Sussex Police have closed a footbridge in Shoreham after a suspected ordnance was uncovered in the river.
Workers excavating the bridge called the police at 12:40pm when they discovered the old explosive.
The footbridge and Coronation Green are currently closed while the bomb disposal squad make the device safe.
