Travel - trains: Sussex - Haywards Heath, First Capital Connect

Disruption on First Capital Connect between Luton and Sutton (Greater London), and between Bedford and Haywards Heath due to person hit by a train at St Pancras International.

Tickets being accepted on Underground, Southern and East Midlands trains services. All Thameslink lines are blocked. First Capital Connect do not have an estimate for normal service.

ROADWORKS: M4 in Berkshire

Work to repair sections of the road surface on the M4 near Reading continues this week.

Carriageway maintenance will take place along sections of all three lanes of the eastbound carriageway between Whitley Wood (junction 11) and Sindlesham from Monday 15 October, for around three weeks.

Work will be carried out overnight, between 10pm and 6am each night, Monday to Friday. When work is being carried out, a reduced 50mph speed limit will be in place and drivers will be directed to travel along the hard shoulder past the work site.

This work is part of a series of maintenance schemes taking place on the M4 between junctions 10 and 11 over the next six months.

ROADWORKS: A34 closures at Oxford

Work continues this week to resurface sections of both the north and southbound carriageways of the A34 near Oxford, between the Kennington and Peartree interchanges.

The following slip roads are scheduled to be closed overnight this week:

  • Monday 15: Closure of the northbound entry and exit slip roads at the Hinksey junction* Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17: Closure of the northbound entry slip road at the Hinksey junction* Thursday 18 and Friday 19: Closure of the northbound entry slip road at the Botley junction

ROADWORKS: A303 closures this week

Carriageway maintenance work to repair sections of the road surface on both carriageways of the A303 over three bridges on the A303 in Wiltshire continues this week.

Bridges at the Picket Twenty junction, Kimpton Quarley and Thruxton Hill will have new road surfaces.

This week work will be carried out at the A3093 Picket Twenty junction.

Overnight (10pm - 5.30am) on Monday 15 and Thursday 18 October the eastbound carriageway between the slip roads will close.

Overnight on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 the westbound carriageway between the slip roads will close.

Short, fully signed diversion routes will be in place via the A3093, returning drivers to the A303 at the other side of the junction.
