Families in Kent are furious at Southern Water that sewage flooded into their homes from a burst drain. The householders in Margate had only moved in to the new properties three weeks ago.
In a statement today Southern Water said: “We sincerely apologise for the disruption and distress caused by this unexpected incident. Initial investigations indicate that the incident was the result of a blockage caused by a build up of debris such as wet wipes, nappies and fat deposits.
Our team are on site dealing with the situation and liaising directly with the family affected and a comprehensive clean-up is being completed”.
