Two men who allegedly threatened staff at a service station in East Sussex with an axe are being hunted by police. The men made off with the contents of the cash register and £1,000 worth of cigarettes.

Robbers steal cigarettes and money

Sussex Police have confirmed that two men who allegedly threatened staff at a petrol station in East Sussex with an axe, stole £1,000 worth of cigarettes and cash from the till.

The member of staff was on his own and was verbally threatened but fortunately not physically injured. Detectives are in the process of viewing CCTV and continuing with forensic examinations. I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this robbery or has any information that could help us with our enquiries to please come forward. Your call will be dealt with in the utmost confidence.

Sussex Police have released CCTV pictures of two men who allegedly threatened staff with an axe during a robbery at a service station in Hailsham in East Sussex.

Two men wearing balaclavas demanded money and cigarettes from staff at the Hawkswood Service Station on Monday evening.
