Across our region today, people fell silent to remember those who have sacrificed their lives in defence of this country.

A two minute silence was marked at 11am at towns and cities in tribute to the men and women who have fought and died in conflicts.

Special prayers were held at Canterbury Cathedral, with a parade in Brighton and a short act of remembrance at Chatham's Historic Dockyard.
