Reports from Hong Kong say the two chefs were travelling in a taxi which was trapped between two buses in an horrific crash. They were in Hong Kong for the opening of a new restaurant. The two bus drivers and 54 passengers were also injured in the accident.
Statement on behalf of Heston: "We can confirm that two members of Heston Blumenthal's culinary team were tragically killed in a car accident in Hong Kong. They were both senior members and great and dear friends.
"They were two uniquely talented young chefs who were loved by everyone who worked with them. They will be sadly and deeply missed. Heston is in Hong Kong and will soon be on his way to Australia before making his way back home."

Two chefs from Heston Blumenthal's Berkshire restaurant have been killed in a car crash in Hong Kong.
A spokesman for the Fat Duck in Bray said: "We can confirm two members of our team were tragically killed in a car accident.
"They were both senior members and great and dear friends.Two uniquely talented young chefs that were loved by everyone who worked with them. They will be sadly and deeply missed."
The two chefs from the Fat Duck restaurant were described as highly talented. The men, a Swede and a Briton, were travelling in a taxi when the accident happened. The restaurant is owned by Heston Blumenthal.
