Statement on behalf of Heston: "We can confirm that two members of Heston Blumenthal's culinary team were tragically killed in a car accident in Hong Kong. They were both senior members and great and dear friends.

"They were two uniquely talented young chefs who were loved by everyone who worked with them. They will be sadly and deeply missed. Heston is in Hong Kong and will soon be on his way to Australia before making his way back home."

Two chefs from Heston Blumenthal's Berkshire restaurant have been killed in a car crash in Hong Kong.

A spokesman for the Fat Duck in Bray said: "We can confirm two members of our team were tragically killed in a car accident.

"They were both senior members and great and dear friends.Two uniquely talented young chefs that were loved by everyone who worked with them. They will be sadly and deeply missed."

Two chefs from Heston Blumenthal's Berkshire restaurant The Fat Duck have been killed in a car crash in Hong Kong.

The pair, who have not been named, died following a collision involving a taxi and two double decker buses.

The restaurant in Bray confirmed described them as "uniquely talented young chefs".
