Flood Alert for Shipton Lee

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Ray and its tributaries from Shipton Lee to Islip, including Ludgershall, Blackthorn and Murcott. Low lying land and roads will be affected first.

The River Ray has risen in the Islip area at the confluence with the River Cherwell. This is as a result of last weeks rainfall and increased river levels on the lower Cherwell. No property flooding is expected.

"The weather prospects are: Monday will be a generally dry day with scattered showers that become more frequent into Monday evening. These showers will die out early on Tuesday morning leaving a generally dry day."
