A man has appeared before Maidstone magistrates charged with the murder of 21-year-old Dmitrijs Titovs in Teynham near Sittingbourne in Kent on New Year's Day.
Jurijs Popovs, aged 47, of Henley Place in Teynham has now been bound over to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 4th January. Two other men who were being held in custody have been released without charge.
Kent Police were called to a block of flats in Henley Place in London Road Teynham at about 2am on New Year's Day, after reports of a man with suspected stab wounds being found on the ground outside the block. He was was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the Medway Maritime Hospital.
A man has been charged with murdering a 21 year old following a confrontation just hours into the New Year.
Jurijs Popovs, 47, is accused of killing Dmitrijs Titovs, who suffered a suspected stab wound outside a block of flats.
Officers were called to a disturbance at the block in Henley Place, London Road, Sittingbourne, Kent, at 1.30am on New Year's Day and the incident was resolved.
But half an hour later police were called to the same place again following a report a man was lying injured outside the flats.
Mr Titovs, from Sittingbourne, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Popovs, of Teynham, will appear at Maidstone Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.
Police said two other men who were also arrested have been released without charge.
