Two houses have been destroyed by fire at West Malling in Kent.

Firefighters worked through the night and into this morning to stop the flames spreading to neighbouring properties.

All residents managed to escape unhurt.

The cause of the blaze is being investigated.

Roof fire destroys two homes

Two homes have been destroyed by a fire in Kent.

Around 20 firefighters attended the blaze at a property in High Street, West Malling shortly before midnight.

The fire is believed to have started in the roof space of a house, spread throughout the property and to a neighbouring house.

The houses were evacuated and all occupants were accounted for.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
