A serious road accident yesterday has led to an officer being hospitalised. My thoughts are with him, his family and colleagues.
A Hampshire police officer was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries after a crash while he was responding to an emergency. It happened on the Southbound carriageway of the A31 between Four Marks and Chawton yesterday afternoon. His marked motorbike was in a collision with a car.
The other driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and later bailed until 5 May. Some, but not all, of the officer's immediate family members have been informed.
